BlazeCut Applications

The BlazeCut T Series’ self-contained and compact design, alongside the fact that it operates automatically with no human intervention required and has a large amount of customisability, means it can be placed in a range of enclosed and remote environments to provide superior fire protection and suppression.

Automotive:

Automotive vehicles are becoming increasingly common. According to Suffolk County Council more than 100,000 cars catch fire each year resulting in around 100 deaths.[1] Such fires can result from small fuel leaks into hot areas of the engine compartment or electrical faults within the vehicle which can initially spread undetected. Furthermore for approximately every 12 cars stolen 1 is set on fire, and according to the BBC 30,000 car thefts occurred in London alone in 2022 representing a 58% increase on the previous year.[2]  Vehicle collisions and accidents can also result in fire, the consequences of which, if people are trapped within the vehicle, could be catastrophic.

The BlazeCut T Series is the solution to mitigating these risks. Its automatic actuation means any potential fire can be suppressed before it is even detected by the driver. Its fast fire suppression using Clean Suppressing Agents HFC-227ea and FK5-1-12 means the fire can be supressed and contained quickly, minimising damage to the vehicle, while the clean agents ensure no damage to the vehicle or clean-up required upon actuation of the T Series.

The T Series has seen particular popularity with vintage car owners, given their aging engines and invaluable nature, the BlazeCut T Series has ensured these vehicles continue to operate long into the future.

The BlazeCut T Series is also offered in ‘Stealth Black’ to better blend into engine bays.

Power Cabinets /Electrical Enclosures:

Electrical enclosures and power cabinets are at high risk of fires mainly due to electrical faults. These electrical faults can be caused by faulty wiring or a build-up of heat and debris. On top of this, the mitigation for said risks is highly limited, due to the enclosed nature of power cabinets, allowing a potential fire to spread easily and unseen but also any fire suppression systems, once activated, would have trouble accessing the inside of the cabinet.

BlazeCut electrical cabinet fire suppression The BlazeCut T Series however due to its compact and unobtrusive design can be placed inside the electrical enclosure directly over the fire risk to suppress any potential fire at its source   automatically. Furthermore the T Series customisability in terms of length and Clean Suppressing Agent quantity allows the T Series to be perfectly tailored to suit each different electrical   enclosure. The Clean Suppressing agents HFC-227ea and   FK5-1-12 are both   electrically non- conductive and leave no residue ensuring that no equipment is damaged by actuation of the T Series.

The T Series can be installed easily, in many cases requiring no heavy clamps or mounting brackets. Once installed the fire risk and potential damage to an electrical enclosure is greatly   reduced as the T Series is automatically     protecting the enclosure 24/7 with a maintenance free shelf life of up to 10 years.

BlazeCut 3D printer fire suppression

3D Printers:

Similar installation techniques using the BlazeCut T Series have been used on 3D printers. With 3D printers becoming increasingly popular many new owners are not fully aware of the fire risks these machines pose. 3D printers are also usually left attended and in unsupervised areas which if set alight could easily spread to other rooms further endangering assets and people’s lives. This makes the T Series, with its automatic actuation, an extremely valuable addition to any 3D printing set up one might have and ensures both people and assets are protected 24/7 with no human intervention required.

Port Facilities:

Port facilities face a number of fire risks due to the large amount of active machinery present, with the potential for mechanical and electrical failures, but also the handling of flammable materials that are inevitably shipped in and out of port facilities. As these ports continue to grow we will see in an increase in the number of forklifts, unloading vehicles and cranes resulting in a greater fire risk.

Port facilities are also extremely valuable assets to the global economy, and a large fire at a major port could cause financial losses in the many millions, even billions of pounds, from damage to goods and assets but also due to port closure.

Beirut in 2020 is a prime example of how large a fire risk major ports are if not properly protected. Following the outbreak of a fire in the port of Beirut, it then spread to a storage warehouse containing  2,570 tons of ammonium nitrate, a highly explosive compound that’s commonly used as a fertiliser. What resulted was a huge explosion that killed 200 and injured more than 6,000.[1]  In terms of economic losses the World Bank estimated damages to be in the range of $3.8- $4.6 billion.[2]

The BlazeCut T Series is one extremely valuable tool in combatting fire risks to help prevent similar disasters from occurring.

BlazeCut Port facilities Fire SuppressionThe T Series has seen use with Autonomous Guided Vehicles (AGV) at major ports across the world. AGVs are seeing increasing use worldwide due to their guidance system which means they can still operate in bad weather and low visibility, while removing the need for human presence underneath large containers. This however does present a fire risk due to potential electrical faults in the AGVs complex battery system but also from no human being present in the vehicle to intervene if a fire occurs.

The AGVs were therefore equipped with the BlazeCut T Series containing the clean suppressing agent HFC-227ea directly over the area most at risk of fire. Doing so has greatly reduced the risk of serious fire due to the effectiveness of the suppressing agent but also from the prompt and automatic actuation of the T Series should a fire occur. The T Series can be further customised to add alarm panels and beacons for monitoring and warning of any potential outbreaks.
