Li-ion Tamer MOS – Detecting early signs of a lithium-ion battery thermal runaway
The Li-ion Tamer Sensor MOS is a device that detects hydrogen and carbon monoxide gases, which are generated during thermal runaway of lithium-ion batteries.
By identifying these gases, the system enables effective management of flammable gas accumulation, helping to reduce the risk of explosive conditions. It is also capable of detecting the initial venting of battery electrolyte solvent vapours (off-gassing phase) that occurs early in the failure mode of lithium-ion batteries.
This early detection provides personnel with the critical time needed to respond, helping to prevent battery failures from escalating into dangerous and costly fire incidents.
